Ben (age 15) is running the Junior Great North Run next Saturday 6th September, and hoping to raise money for Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity, a cause that means a lot to him and his family.
Ben’s mum works for HDFT as an Operational Director, having worked for HDFT in a number of clinical and operational roles since 2018 meaning, he has grown up knowing how important the hospital is to the community. It did however became even more personal last year when Ben suffered a spinal fracture subsequently receiving fantastic care and support from the HDFT Paediatric team.
Taking on this challenge is his way of saying thank you, whilst also helping the charity fund specialist equipment and projects to improve comfort and wellbeing for patients and their families.
