Jacobs Yorkshire Marathon for the Special Care Baby Unit
My name is Jacob and earlier this year my wife and I welcomed into this world our baby boy who was born prematurely at 34 weeks. This ended up with our new-born staying in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) where we got to witness first-hand the wonders the team on that ward provide. To help with their efforts and as a small gesture to say thank you (I can never repay SCBU for allowing my baby to come home happy and healthy), I plan to run the Yorkshire Marathon in October 2025 whilst raising funds for these essential improvements….

Colin Little – Sir Chris Hoy Tour 4 Cycle Ride – Active Against Cancer
It has been just over two years since I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and since then I have undergone various treatments to help manage the condition including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy. These have all helped to manage the cancer so far. This treatment and exceptional care has been carried out by excellent staff, such as those in the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre at Harrogate District Hospital. Throughout this period, I have also had tremendous support from Active Against Cancer (AAC) who have helped me with my fitness level and with the recovery after each treatment and…

Andrew Rosindale – Leeds Half Marathon
I started running during COVID-19 to get some exercise in and get away from my desk for some time a day. I had only ran 5km runs but in recent years have decided to step it up and increasingly challenge myself. The Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 11 May 2025 will be my first long distance running event and I wanted to mark that by fundraising for HHCC. Being able to enhance the experience for service users and staff at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) and all the good work this charity does is a great motivator for…

Anthony Henson Yorkshire Three Peaks for Active Against Cancer
It has been nearly two and a half years since my diagnosis of incurable pancreatic and liver cancer and six months since I completed my eight month Lutathera treatment. The three month scan was very positive and indicates that I will hopefully have another two years of life with limited additional medical requirements beyond my daily pills and monthly injections. For this I cannot thank the wonderful Doctors and Nurses of the NHS enough for giving me and my family a new hope. However I could not have had or completed the course of treatment without the support of Active…
