    We are hosting a party in aid of the Sir Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre (SROMC) who have helped Emma through her breast cancer treatment. Every penny donated to this party will help improve the experience of patients and service users who access SROMC.

    Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity (HHCC) was first established as the registered Charity for Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) on 16 October 1995.  Our purpose over the past 30 years has been to enhance the quality of healthcare services and support staff wellbeing, beyond normal NHS funding.

    The BAK Foundation are hosting a charity football match on the 31st August, followed by a charity bike ride on the weekend of the 7th of September. Both events are raising funds for the Palliative Care Team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT). Your donations will make a massive difference to the care and end of life experience for patients and their loved ones so your generosity is greatly appreciated.

    On 12 August 2025, I will be running the Cumbria Way in one day, in aid of Active Against Cancer (AAC). This will be the hardest challenge I’ve ever taken on, covering 118 km, 2775 m total ascent and 2842 m descent in less than 24 hours.

    I started running during COVID-19 to get some exercise in and get away from my desk for some time a day. I had only ran 5km runs but in recent years have decided to step it up and increasingly challenge myself. The Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 11 May 2025 will be my first long distance running event and I wanted to mark that by fundraising for HHCC.     Techbuyer have kindly chosen Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity (HHCC) as one of their chosen charity partners for 2025/2026. HHCC is the registered charity for Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT). Funds raised will go towards refurbishment of the conservatory on Pannal Ward.

    Raworths has kindly chosen Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity (HHCC) as their charity partner for 2025/2026. HHCC is the registered charity for Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT). Over the course of two years, Raworths hopes to support departments across HDFT that may benefit from additional funding to enhance the experience of service users, their families and colleagues across teamHDFT. This cause is very close to the staff at Raworths who are really excited to be working with HHCC to further enhance these services for many years to come.

    It has been nearly two and a half years since my diagnosis of incurable pancreatic and liver cancer and six months since I completed my eight month Lutathera treatment.  The three month scan was very positive and indicates that I will hopefully have another two years of life with limited additional medical requirements beyond my daily pills and monthly injections.
